This is my BlogDay post. In it you will find new bloggers (for me) that write about stuff that I represents my interests. Celebrate!

Since Blogday.org is down right now, here is what it says on the About Page.

BlogDay was initiated with the belief that bloggers should have one day which will be dedicated to know other bloggers, from other countries or areas of interests. In that day Bloggers will recommend about them to their Blog visitors.

What will happen in BlogDay
In one long moment In August 31st, bloggers from all over the world will post a recommendation of 5 new Blogs, Preferably, Blogs different from their own culture, point of view and attitude. On this day, blog surfers will find themselves leaping and discovering new, unknown Blogs, celebrating the discovery of new people and new bloggers.

Why do we need a BlogDay?
I am suggesting this kind of activity because in the last months I felt that the more blogs there are, the less time I’m spending on new web logs. Because of the overload of information, I’m just visiting my favorite Blog and therefore, I’m sure that I miss a lot of good blogs.

My own daughter should be arriving shortly with her one year old.

It is his first birthday today and we are going to have a birthday party and pool party and barbeque.

Perhaps "I Obsess, Therefore I Am" is an appropriate take off on this one.

Several of her frequent visitors nominated her and, in fact, she posts about the Mt. Everest-sized mound of gratitude she has for those who encourage her.

I don't envy the teething process she is going through with her toddler or the PMS. There is lots of fun reading in her posts and lots more in her blogroll.

Today's Blog of the Day Award goes to:Ann Adams at Roc Rebel Granny who nominated some other people but she is not getting off that easily. She is today's winner.

Roc Reble Granny looks like it is her fun and laid back blog. She has several others which are quite serious but this one is basically just what it says - Ann's exciting life with the great-grandkids (and a husband)

If she has nothing to say she just puts up whatever she can find, a recipe, a joke about living in Phoenix (it's a dry heat, by the way) some pictures or a meme. You never know what you are going to find.

Her blogroll policy is "way cool" and I'm sure that leads to lots of interesting comments.

I'm not sure whether we will always do a BOTDA on weekends. I was going to not do one since there were no nominations overnight and since we are in major construction mode with all of the old floors being torn out and replaced in this old house.

Stephanie caught our eye this morning with a link in her sidebar (to wfr) which showed up in our stats and put her site on our radar screen.

Once I spent some time reading about side launching of ice breakers, government unions and bureaurocracy and the USS Texas Submarine I was convinced that Stephanie should be today's winner.

Best Award Sites - Blog of the Day Awards

Blog of the Day Awards is getting organized and soliciting judges willing to look at dozens of sites each day and decide which are the best in terms of design, clarity, content, creativity and their personal opinion. The best sites will win the daily blog awards that will be presented here.

We are also getting some graphics done in order to have a consistent design for both the site and the awards. The award graphics and nominee graphics can be displayed on your site and there will be a tiny button for supporters to use to display their support and link to these awards that we are calling the BOTDA

Please submit your nominations and check back often to see who the winners are and to see our progress in becoming the best Award Site for Blogs.
